I can’t blame her on what she has done lately; our kitchen is indeed in need of some new appliances. I also have considered about it since we moved to this new apartment. With our new and larger kitchen, some new dinnerware is apparently reasonable to get.

One thing that she likes to do – and it seems to be her new hobby – is to spend her time in the kitchen. While cooking and preparing food for both of us, she is often referring to her new cookbooks and try to make some “experiments”. Just like yesterday Saturday, she diligently sat on the dining chair in the kitchen scrutinizing a cookbook and preparing the food processor we got before we moved to this place. She looked to enjoy the time until she did not realize that I was about to go to the Laundromat. Well, I think it is just Ok; if what she has been doing could make her happy, I would gladly support her.

When I got back from the Laundromat an hour later, a stand mixer and a blender were dirtily and messily scattered all over the kitchen table. She must have done a very massive ‘try out’ on cooking. But I wonder what she had made at that time? I could see most of our food and beverage supplies were out of the refrigerator; and even some were already in the trash compactor on the corner of the kitchen. I looked over the kitchen to find out where she might be but she was not there. Perhaps she was in the other room or at the next door neighbor for some cooking suggestion. Ok, the most important thing was that all the laundry was completely done.

Just when I put the laundry bag, she came in from the garden door while holding a bread machine with her 2 hands. Looking at me, she smiled and asked me if everything was fine. I said yes, and I returned the question to her. She seemed to get hesitated what to answer to my question. I knew there must have been something wrong.

In short, she told me that our toaster oven was not working properly that made her take an initiative action by borrowing the bread machine from the neighbor. She said that using our microwave oven could replace the use of the toaster, but it would take longer and what needed to be done was just a simple toasting to finish the new dish for us both.

Well, I guess I could not agree with her more, and the most important thing is that I could hardly wait for trying the dish of a new recipe made by her.
